Princesa del Mar hotel was created to be the most luxurious Super-Inclusive 5-star resort in Cuba. Located on one of world’s finest beaches - Varadero Beach - combining an atmosphere of elegance, harmony with nature and relaxation. Only couples over 18 years of age are allowed.
“Unreliable safes in room ”
We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon and everything was perfect apart from when we had money stolen from us that was 'safely' tucked away in our safe in the room.
This ruined our honeymoon and the staff were not very helpful at all. They were convinced that no one apart from us would have had access to the safe. Well, the safe can be opened by using a master code via a portable machine. We strongly believe this practice is common at the resort whereby the person in charge of the master code gains access to the rooms and help themselves to whatever they can without arousing suspicion.
They probably tend to do it just before you leave so that by the time the police can attend to the scene, it is too late as 'they would take too long and you would have to leave before the matter was dealt with'
If you must stay at this resort, DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VALUABLES IN THE SAFE!!! They are everything but safe. The matter would only be dealt with if the propeitors of this resort decide to investigate. This has probably happened to unsuspecting guests before and had probably been attributed to having too much to drink. Be vigilant and be wary of those who can gain access to your room!!!
